Description
Two-layer buckram is a type of buckram fabric that consists of two layers of cotton, typically bonded together to enhance its stiffness, durability, and overall structural integrity. This construction makes it particularly useful for applications that require additional support and rigidity.
The dual-layer construction provides greater rigidity compared to single-layer buckram, making it ideal for projects that need to maintain their shape. It is generally more durable than standard buckram, as the additional layer adds strength and resistance to wear and tear. Crafters often utilize two-layer buckram for making structured items such as hats, boxes, and other decorative elements that require firmness. In costume and prop making, two-layer buckram can be used to create armor, headpieces, and other elements that need to hold their shape. It is also suitable for use in display boards and framing projects, where a rigid backing is necessary to support artwork or photographs.
Easy to use: Place the iron-on buckram with the adhesive(shinny) side upward and then place the fabric you want to attach it to on top of it with the wrong side of fabric facing downward. Make sure the fabrics are aligned properly. Press the iron onto the fabric, applying firm and even pressure. Move the iron in a slow, circular motion to ensure even heat distribution for 15-20 seconds. Avoid using steam during this process. Allow the fabric to cool completely before handling. This will ensure that the adhesive sets properly. Once cooled, lift the fabric and check if the iron-on fabric has adhered properly. If not, reapply heat for a few more seconds.
