Myth Viking: Currently, the era of the Vikings has come to consciousness again with the successful Irish-Canadian TV series “Vikings”. Around the main character Ragnar Lodbrok as a later king of the Viking tribes, the series describes the beginnings of the Viking Age in the early Middle Ages – combined with the historical wars of conquest and corresponding development of civilisation in northern Europe.
VEGVISIR WIKINGER COMPASS The Vegvisir (Icelandic for signpost) is considered one of the core symbols of Nordic mythology. The symbol is mainly associated with the Icelandic magic tradition of the Galda rafir. In a new-pagan interpretation of the sign, the Vegvisir symbolises the nine worlds of Norse mythology: upper world, earth and underworld with its middle and eight rays.
Jewellery with symbolic power. In mythology, the Vegvisir is given a high level of protection. The wearer should not be lost in storm or wind, even if the path ahead is unknown. It is also particularly popular as jewellery in various late modern sub-cultures. Well-known artists, such as the Icelandic singer Björk, also wear a tattoo of the Vegvisir on their body.
Ideal gift: the pendant with necklace is also suitable as a simple / inexpensive gift or small gift. Whether for a birthday, anniversary or holiday, as a friendship pendant / necklace and/or to remember special experiences, as a courage to cope with special challenges / life crises or simply as a groundbreaking protection symbol with or without reference to Nordic mythology.
