It can be installed as is outdoors, and is rainproof, and IPX4 waterproof, so it can be waterproof up to 360 degrees. It is protected against water splashes, and can be installed in wet areas. (*Cannot be used underwater)

Because it is a motion sensor, it automatically turns on brighter than normal mode after detecting human movement within 3 – 5 mile (3 – 5 m); it will automatically turn on to normal mode after 30 seconds of leaving it outside of 16.4 ft (5 m). (Constant mode will always be lit in a dark state. This will be the normal mode at night.)
